It is a precision instrument used for measuring the unknown value of inductance. The instrument is mounted in a durable teak wood case and comes with in-built components to facilitate accurate measurement and clear understanding of the working principle.
  1. AC Source:
    • Provides a 1 kHz sine wave signal.
    • Amplitude is indicated using a lamp on the bakelite panel.
    • Two output sockets are provided for AC signal connections.
  2. Detector:
    • Equipped with an in-built null detector for detecting small AC signals.
    • Features a digital display for precise readings.
  3. Circuit Layout:

  4. Unknown Inductances:
    • The instrument is supplied with four unknown inductance values for measurement practice.

    • R2, R3: Three-decade dials with ranges ×10, ×100, ×1000 ohms.
    • C: Decade dial of ×0.1 μF.
    • R4: Fixed resistance of 100 ohms.
