For determining the relative conductivity of thin layers of materials, it consists of cylindrical brass slab of 11cm dia and 10.5mm thickness. On this is connected another 4.5cm deep brass hollow cylinder (steam chest) of the same dia with inlet and outlet tubes for steam. A hole for thermometer is drilled radially in each, and the cylindrical brass slab is fitted with eyelets to enable it to be suspended by three strings from a stout annular ring. The ring is held on a heavy AGN Retort Stand complete as above with accessories but without thermometer.- Cylindrical Brass Slab: 11 cm diameter, 10.5 mm thickness; serves as the primary specimen for conductivity measurements.
- Steam Chest: Hollow brass cylinder, 4.5 cm deep, same diameter as the slab, with inlet and outlet tubes for steam heating.
- Thermometer Ports: Radial holes drilled in both the slab and the steam chest for thermometer placement (thermometers not included).
- Suspension System: Brass slab fitted with eyelets for suspension by three strings from a sturdy annular ring.
- Support Stand: Ring mounted on a heavy retort stand for stable and safe operation.
- Accessories: Complete set of necessary accessories included, except thermometers.
- Purpose: Designed to measure the relative thermal conductivity of thin layers of different materials.
