It is designed to study the resonance of air columns in a laboratory setup. It consists of a heavy-duty stainless-steel tube (S.W.G. No. 16) mounted alongside a meter scale on a polished wooden board. The lower end of the tube is sealed into a metal cup connected via rubber tubing to a brass reservoir, allowing precise adjustment of the air column length. The apparatus enables accurate measurement of resonance conditions for sound experiments.- Tube: Stainless steel pipe, 1” diameter, S.W.G. No. 16, length 1.10 m × 25 mm diameter.
- Scale: Fitted with a meter scale for easy measurement of the resonance column length.
- Mounting: Tube and scale mounted on a superior quality polished wooden board for stability.
- Reservoir System: Metal cup at the lower end connected via rubber tubing to a brass reservoir, with adjustable elevation for precise resonance tuning.
- Measurement: Distance between zero stop and closed end of the tube gives the length of the resonance column.
